Did you know ? Several museums in Lyon are free upon presentation of the student card! And even if you no longer have a student card, many museums are free on Sundays in France.

Free museums for students

The Confluence Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art are free upon presentation of your student card. If you study art, the Institute of Contemporary Art is also free.

The first Sunday of the month in France

In France, national museums are free on the first Sunday of each month. In Lyon, no museum has been concerned since 2017, the Gallo-Roman museum (Lugdunum) offers to visit its collections free of charge on the first Sunday of the month.

But many monuments in France are affected by free admission on the first Sunday of the month. During your travels, you can take advantage of it and discover for example the Panthéon, the Musée d’Orsay or the Musée Picasso (Paris), the Cathedral of Besançon, the Abbey of Cluny (in Saône-et-Loire), the Palais du Tau (Reims), the Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel (in Normandy), the Château d’Angers… and many more!

You can find out more on the national monuments website: https://www.monuments-nationaux.fr/Trouver-un-monument

Yoan Pompet

Ciao ! Hello !
